Overview
Wanderly ("we", "us") helps you discover places and plan trips. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Wanderly, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and profile details when you sign up or sign in, including via Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Location: with your permission, your device location is used to show nearby places, calculate routes, and give turn-by-turn navigation. You can disable this at any time in your device Settings.
- Saved places: places you save or add to lists, so we can show them back to you.
- Trip and itinerary data: trips, days, and stops you create or save.
- Photos: if you choose to set a profile picture, we access the photo you select from your library.
- Purchase information: if you subscribe to Wanderly Premium, our payment provider (Apple, via RevenueCat) shares subscription status with us so we can unlock Premium features. We never see or store your card details.
How we use your information
We use your information to operate and improve Wanderly: to show relevant places and directions, sync your saved places and trips across devices, process subscriptions, send notifications you've opted into, and keep the app secure and working correctly. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
Wanderly relies on trusted third parties to provide core functionality, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Supabase: account authentication and storage of your account, saved places, and trip data.
- Google (Places and Routes APIs): place search results, maps, and navigation directions.
- OpenAI: powers AI-driven search suggestions based on what you search for.
- RevenueCat and Apple: process and manage subscription purchases.
Data retention
We keep your account and trip data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from Settings, your saved places and trips are permanently removed.
Your choices
You can turn off location access and notifications at any time in your device Settings. You can review or delete your saved places and trips from within the app, restore or manage your subscription from Settings, and permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account.
Children's privacy
Wanderly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know within the app.
